Cacao Avocado Protein Balls for Manly ©



Manly is all about beaches and healthly living

Most of us agree on this, but sometimes my patients don’t agree that it is possible to live without chocolate. Here is a little recipe to help you indulge your chocolate taste buds without having to compromise your health…

Along with our RecoveryFX natural anti-inflammatory tabs, protein balls were one of the secret weapons that helped in the success of my recent 14km Bear Cottage charity swim from Manly to Bondi.


Cacao Avocado protein ball recipe

Makes about a dozen medium sized balls

1 large ripe avocado
1/4 cup organic cacao powder
2 scoops of our organic, non-dairy, vegan 7.2 Protein Powder (available direct at Light Touch Chiropractic)
1/8 to 1/4 cup crushed almonds (or crushed Almond/Brazil/Cashew nut mix)
Desiccated/shredded organic coconut for final coating

Add Banana and/or finely chopped dried goji berries
Nuts may be omitted and replaced with shredded coconut, for those with allergies

How to make healthy Cacao Avocado Protein Balls:
1.  Puree avocado by hand or in a processor until smooth consistency
(optional: puree banana)
2.  Mix in cacao and protein powder
3.  Add crushed nuts to desired consistency
4.  Scoop out and roll balls in coconut
5.  Serve and enjoy right away or place in fridge for later
